Tourist security in Uzbekistan

On December 7, 2016, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the establishment of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

The Committee, in accordance with the presidential decree, is taking measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of ongoing reforms in the tourism sector and dramatically increasing the number of foreign citizens entering the Republic.

It is planned to improve the quality of services provided and actively promote the national tourism product in world markets.

To ensure safety, the Tourist Police has been created, the effectiveness of which has already been proven. In 2019, Uzbekistan entered the top five safest countries in the world for single tourists.

Since 2021, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development has joined the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) in the status of an associated partner, which opens up even greater opportunities and guarantees state support to popularize the direction of Uzbekistan among Russian tour operators.

The national carrier Uzbekistan Airways contributes to the development of tourism in the country by providing a special tour operator tariff, which can significantly reduce the cost of tours and qualitatively improve the package of services offered.

The airline has a state-of-the-art aircraft fleet, which is one of the important factors for tourists who choose the purpose of their visit not only to the country, but also to travel to Southeast Asia with a stopover in Tashkent and Samarkand.
